Discover your true identity

You are not who you think you are: You did not begin when you were born, or even when you were conceived. Neither are you just the product of your ancestry. You might have been a surprise to your parents, but it was God who wrote the script of your DNA when he fashioned you in your mother’s womb.

Oh yes, you shaped me first inside, then out; you formed me in my mother’s womb. I thank you, High God—you’re breathtaking!  Psalm 139:12 The Message

The knowledge of your origin, the understanding of your identity, is what makes your life real and your convictions true.

Understanding and embracing your true identity is a foundational truth necessary for the construction of other truths.

Jesus said: ”My testimony is true; for I know where I came from and where I am going,”  John 8:14

Even if you could trace your ancestry back – as far back as Adam, that would not reveal who you truly are.

“…. He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love,” Ephesians 1:4

You precede creation! Before creation was, you were in Him, and He chose you to become part of creation. Although you are part of creation, your substance is eternal, without beginning and without end. God knew you before He formed you in your mother’s womb. It is not the brief history on planet earth that introduces you to your Maker. He recognised you in Himself, before creation.

Come to this conclusion: I am more than the sum total of my experiences. I am greater than all the events in my life joined together. I’m bigger than my biggest disappointment or achievement. I am the image and likeness of God, and who I am, still has to be revealed – as I discover who I truly am.

If the great I AM says I AM, then I AM!
